Discovering Dauin: Bahura Resort and Spa

We got a chance to visit Bahura Resort and Spa when we went to Manjuyod Island .  One of my friends is from the neighboring town of Dauin, so we took the chance to visit this hidden paradise outside Dumaguete city. It’s located at Km. 19 Maayongtubig, Dauin Negros Oriental. A 30-minute ride South from Dumaguete City.

The place is really well known on the area so it’s quite easy to catch. You may take a bus from Dumaguete Bus Terminal to Bayawan. These buses should pass the resort and you may ask the drivers to drop you off the Bahura Beach signage. Visitors have the option for day use or stay in the resort. They have available villas for those who wanted to stay longer than a day.

We got the day tripper package at Php 500.00/person. Totally not bad for an entrance fee with a 3 course lunch buffet. We also get to enjoy the pool! I’m not a good swimmer but I totally enjoyed the experience; the waters don’t sting! Usually we always got that feeling when we open our eyes while swimming in a pool, but theirs is quite amazing, you got to swim with your eyes open. It’s totally clean as well, and they have a part that goes down until 16 ft deep. The rest is just 4ft so for no good swimmers like me, it’s safe!

The place is also open for diners, they offer ala carte menu. They have a well maintained area where visitors can enjoy their food away from the pool area. They also offer packages for events like weddings and birthday parties. The place also accept major credit card payment so if there’s a problem with cash on hand, no need to worry. Visitors though are not allowed to bring outside food.

If you want to enjoy the beach, the resort also has a beach front! It’s a sanctuary area where you can enjoy snkeling. There’s a Php50.00/person fee for the sanctuary ticket where you can buy from the resort front-desk or municipality of Dauin. They also offer snorkeling gears available for rent. Notice that island? That’s already Apo Island. We were planning to visit but the weather was really unpredictable at that time so we decided to visit Bahura instead…and we still got to enjoy the second option, so it’s a win-win situation.

This resort looks stunning! If this would be close (enough) to my home, I would definitely go there! Your photos look stunning. It’s great that can have both dinner and have a swim there! I will keep this on my wish list!

This is so close to my mom’s home and yet we have never been here. Perhaps in our next trip home we could consider visiting the place. It’s super beautiful!

I’ve heard so many great things about Dumaguete! I wish I could visit one day too. You seriously make me want to get some vitamin sea. It’s been raining for weeks.
