Lovey Doggy: the first dog cafe in Cebu

To all the dog lovers in Cebu, the long wait is over! Lovey Doggy dog cafe is now open at GQS Plaza, Banilad, Cebu city. The cafe was totally a stress reliever. It was a spacious 2-story cafe with super chill ambiance. The cafe is really easy to spot. GQS Plaza is right across Gaisano Country mall. Right beside University of Cebu, Banilad Campus.

As for the cafe’s rule, You need to buy a ticket to enter their playpen where the dogs are placed. Tickets are sold for 100.00 php/person. You can only avail for a ticket as long as you made a minimum purchase of 100.00php from their menu. It’s a bit pricey given that you’ll need to spend at least 200.00 php to totally enjoy the place, although it’s totally worth it after playing with the adorable cutie patooties! We were a bit early for our turn  so we decided to chill on their second floor. They’re not like our normal cafes where chairs were synchronized from shapes to colors. Theirs come in different shapes and sizes. The place was spacious but seats are limited.

You may be asking how customers take turn on entering the playpen. There’s a maximum of 15 people per session. They are imposing a fix one hour session interval so if you decided to enter 30 minutes before one hour, you’ll be missing your 30 minutes. You will be also signing a waiver before entering the play pen. When it comes to hygiene, the place was totally spotless even with 12 dogs playing around. They have hand sanitizers all over the place for their customers. They also have their staff who diligently follow up on their dogs if ever the place needs cleaning.

Milk and Wolverine. The two fluffy Pomeranians.

Yiri, the Syberian husky who greeted us when we entered the playpen. Almost every dog were on their siesta when we had our turn so we need to wait for a while before everyone got the energy recharged.

Simba, the Chowchow whom we didn’t get the chance to play. He was still taking his bath when we arrived.

Leo is a Boston Terrier and would often go to the customers that has dog treats. Hehehe! The cafe is also selling repackaged dog treats for only 10.00 php.

Bruno the beagle. The timid one, who just woke up when we it was just a few minutes before our time was up. Haha!

Nara the graceful Poodle.

Piggy, the sleepy Corgi.

Always make sure to follow the reminders to take care of the pets. Never use flash photography. The puppies were not toys so let’s handle them gently. It’s the establishment’s rule as well to not carry the dog while walking inside the playpen. Play with them and learn to share with the other customers.

Wow! I did not know there’s a dog cafe already in Gaisano. Was only able to see a catcafe in SM Seaside. Crumpy, Cheesecake and Cinderella would definitely enjoy visiting. We will surely include this in our next road trip to Cebu.

i almost screamed when i saw the picture of the frenchie! they always so cute, aren’t they? and there’s husky, chowchow and beagle too! I love all these dog breeds! Aww, I’m so envious! How I wish I can visit too! I like how they limit each session to 1 hour and max 15 pax. It will lessen the unnecessary stress on the puppies as well.

OMG, wow! This is awesome. I have two poodles myself and I would love to go to a doggy cafe. How cool is that! They would love to come and see other dogs too. I have to look up if we have this in Stockholm or something similar. This is so much fun!!!!

Awwww! This is so cute! The doggies are such creatures that makes us go “awwww” whenever we see them. It’s such a relief to be greeted by them and also to receive their kisses and hugs. The Corgi is so cute, not because he’s lazy but because of his expression when you photographed him! Just candid and cute!

At first, I thought I would read about a cafe where you can bring your own dog, while hanging out over coffee. But that wasn’t the case at all.. It was a different kind of dog cafe 🙂 Well, it was an interesting read and I think it’s a good concept (as long as the dogs enjoy their days). I’ve never heard of anything like this before. I love dogs, I have one myself and think it’s so sweet! Thanks for sharing.

Akala ko noong una, you bring your dogs. Kaya while I was reading, nagtataka ako bakit sa second floor walang me aso. Ayun naman pala. Hahaha. You go there to play with dogs. Cute concept.

I knew about this place but I was too scared to go. Not because I’m scared of dogs. Not at all. I love them to bits. What I’m scared is that I’ll be supporting something that may be harmful to the health of the dogs. I imagined the place would be stressful to the dogs especially with the number of customers I’m sure the cafe will have. But seeing your post and knowing about their rules makes me happy. Thanks for sharing about this Kris.

The dogs get tired at times but there are rules that you need to follow like leaving the dogs if they’re asleep and a few more rules to follow. 🙂

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH I didn’t really want to leave the cafe when we got there! One hour is not enough! We went there on a Saturday night so the lighting wasn’t really good resulting to not-so-good photos as well huhu. Seeing your photos makes me wanna go there on a daylight! Mubalik jud ko didto!

Awwww soooo adorable! I’m not a pet person but I find dogs really cute. You’re right it’s quite pricey and knowing that we have 4 dogs here at home – 3 Japanese spitz dogs and 1 Askal, haha (stray dog), I don’t think I will visit a dog cafe. Hehe. It’s best for die-hard dog lovers though, like you. 🙂
